FREEDOM is an expression of LOVE.
Whether you are married or not, remember: all marriages are fake-just social conveniences. Their purpose is not to imprison you but to bind you to each other; their purpose is to grow with each other. But the growth needs "FREEDOM"....and in the past, all cultures have forgotten that without freedom, LOVE dies.
These thoughts makes me observe something interesting......
You see a bird on the wing in the sun, in the sky and it looks so beautiful. Attracted by its beauty, you can catch the bird and put it in a golden cage. Do you think it is the same bird? Superficially, yes it is the same bird which was flying high in the sky; but deep down it is not the same bird beacuase where is its sky, where is its freedom?
This golden cage may be valuable to you; its not valuable to the bird. For the bird, to be free in the sky is the only valuable thing in life.
And the same is true for human beings.
Juxtaposing freedom of the bird with freedom of marraige may not complement well. Putting the bird inside the cage was not be her wish while getting married was solely at the persons discretion. Who knows you may well say..till marriage I was bonded by coroporate-urban style, now I have the power to break free :)
ReplyDeleteI am not sure what has inspired you to write this blog. But trust me, you are absolutely wrong. Dont get biased or generalise marriage as a prison or cage based on some unpleasnt examples. I am the example in front of you that marriage has nothing to do with killing your freedom. I have been extremely fierce and freedom freak throughout my life and marriage has brought no changes to the way I live or way I think. Rather I would say I have become a better person after my marriage and have started enjoying life better after my marriage.

ReplyDeleteExcellent thought. Marriage is not natural. All creatures except human beings live, love and do everything else naturally with no strings attached. Not only marriage but most things we as human beings think should do are merely due to the social conditioning we have.
ReplyDeleteHaving said that, I would say marriage works for some but not for everybody. It's always worth a try!!!!
I think comaparing marriage with cage is baseless.Being little optimistic if you will consider marriage itself as the same sky in which your life partner would work as the air(like your parents) which helps the bird to fly would be rather valuable.

ReplyDeleteI am sorry but I do disagree with your views. Are not we convinced that marriage is all about a unique institution that combines two soul together. Extending to that it match two families together and brings some thing new to this world and the list goes on and on. How can we compare Marriage with a golden cage which can never ever be compared.

ReplyDeleteWho says marriage does not carry freedom, marriage and relations works for those who knows to handle it. Its not about 'Me', Authority, Rule, My way, self centric but it is about values like LOVE, SACRIFICE FOR EACH OTHER, UNDERSTANDING WITHIN, COMPROMISE IN SITUATION, BELIEVE IN SELF AND WITH PARTNER, HONESTY... i guess you are trying to justify for something.
